Organic Small Grains & Stone Ground Flour
Located in the historic Northern Neck of Virginia, Grapewood Farm has been in operation since 1996. We’re proud to produce a variety of organic small grains and superior stone ground flour for customers in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Our organic grains are grown on 120 acres of fully certified or transitional fields, the first of which were certified organic in 2007. In 2019 we grew two different varieties of soft red winter wheat, hard red winter wheat, rye and spelt.
Grapewood Farm is dedicated to being a good steward of the land and to managing its natural resources in a sustainable manner. We utilize management practices such as winter cover crops to protect our soils from erosion and prevent runoff, and crop rotation to help reduce plant disease and build soil health.
In addition to our cropland, Grapewood Farm also comprises a certified tree farm for loblolly pines, mixed wood lots, wildlife set asides, borders around our fields, wildflower meadows, streams, ponds and marshland.
