Community Corn Bread Mix
This mix features a blend of Grapewood Farm’s Hard Red Wheat flour and rich Wapsie Valley yellow corn meal. Crafted for its wholesome flavor and coarse rustic texture, each bag also donates $1 to the Healthy Harvest Food Bank.
You Will Need:
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/3 cup melted butter or oil (76 g)
- 1 cup milk (244 g)
Tips:
- Use muffin pan to create smaller individual sized corn bread muffins. Reduce baking time.
- If using frozen berries, it is often recommended to keep them frozen or toss them in flour to prevent them from bleeding into the batter
- Add chopped bacon, jalapeños, green onion and a 1/4 cup of sharp cheddar for a savory treat!
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400ºF (200ºC).
- Grease 8” round, or 8” square pan, or muffin pan.
- Place package contents into a bowl and then add egg, oil and milk
- Stir to combine ingredients but do not over mix.
- Pour batter into prepared pan.
- Bake for 19-21 minutes until top is golden and toothpick inserted comes out clean.
