Welcome Home

At the beginning of each year we refresh the duck nesting boxes for the Wood Ducks that return to the farm in the spring.

The old bedding is removed and fresh put in and repairs made as needed. Of the eight boxes around the property there was evidence that four had been used (broken shells), which was great news. It is a cold task at this time of year, wading through chilly (and sometimes frozen) marshy ponds, but worthwhile to provide a safe nest for these beautiful birds.
